"ALLOCATION OF SPATIAL UTILIZATION BASED ON LAND CARRYING CAPACITY, SAWANGAN, DEPOK"

Abstract
The population growth of Depok City is around 6% per year. This increase has implications for the provision of infrastructure, especially settlements. Depok City is developing a service centre system (SPK) for city activities. The SPK area divided into 11 types of land use which are dominated by settlements of 49.77%. This study aims to analyze the ability of the land to allocate residential use and project the development of the area with the carrying capacity of the land on the variables of population, GRDP, housing needs, living comfort, waste generation. The method used is spatial analysis with a map overlay to explore data from a spatial perspective as a basis for decision making from the criteria for the classification of the ability of the studied land. The dynamic system method uses time-series data to model and project variables. The results of the analysis show that there are three sub-classes of land capability (KL) with the limiting factor of erosion (e) and slope (l), namely KL-II (63,8%,), KL-I (32,48%), dan KL-IV (3,72%). Furthermore, the projection results of 20 years to 2030 show that Depok City has experienced an increase in the population of 52% and GRDP up 80.39% while living comfort has experienced a decreasing trend of past 9 m 2 /person, besides that, along with the increase in population, an increasing trend occurs in housing needs and waste generation. In conclusion, there is an actual land use in line with land capacity in sub-class IV, while the projection results of land carrying capacity show that the need for housing is more dynamic as population increases, while the area of settlements tends not to increase. Land capability class IV-e, is recommended for cropland and the direction of spatial pattern utilization policies are more concerned with the carrying capacity of non-residential.
